Will be doing some welding on frame what needs to be removed besides gas tank, battery to safely not screw up electrics etc. Thanks for reply's in advance.

I'm not a welder, so I can't offer any suggestions for that. However, it might help if you identified your bike (model, year, displacement) and where you wanted to do some welding (and perhaps why).
Just thinking it might help.

on these bikes there's not a lot to be damaged, and really if the frame is properly grounded close to where you're welding there should be no issue.
Still I would unplug all the boxes.
As the saying goes,

"better safe, than dead"

If you have unplugged the RR, I wouldn't be worried about the stator. It is well insulated from the frame.

Thanks Steve for filling in the info slight stumble on my part, and thanks to all the rest for reply's. Fear of frying stator is no longer and can proceed with project without angst.

Thanks I was going to remove battery, had one blow up in my face when I was a teen and haven't forgotten. I think that's pretty much a given. But you never know.

Are you mig or tig welding on it? what are you welding on exactly. Watch out for spatter on your paint if mig welding. Cover up as much as you can.

Not a welder, have friend who takes care of that dept. so can't answer. The proposed welding would be seat mounting brackets etc. as have purchased beautiful seat and brackets no match. Have been reading about Por Patch might be a viable option. Will have to wait on arrival of seat to make decision.
