Small wiring issue on 1983 GS450L

I have a small problem with 3 ground wires. I own a 1983 GS450L and when I went to winterize the bike I forgot to tape up the hot leads on the battery.(Like I DID do every year before). I smoked the 3 negative leads on the bike, one goes to the battery, one is a bullet connector, and the other I can't figure out. If anyone has a picture or a description of how to redo those 3 leads I'd be MOST appreciative. Thanks.

Are you able to get pic's of what you have now? I've basically got a bare harness on my 81 450E at the moment so may be able to but I'm not sure of the connections you're referring to.

          83 GS450L Ground wires

Here's a pic of my issue. (Took me a while). The one wire without a connector has me puzzled. The ring connector is to the battery, the bullet connector I think I remember where it goes and the last, ??????? These three have to be disconnected when removing the battery. Greatly appreciate any help here

            Ok, leads to the battery...

You should have one lead from battery negative to a frame ground.

You should have one lead from battery positive to the main fuse which will continue on to the ignition switch only. Should be red.

You should have one lead from battery positive to the starter solenoid. This will be a big fat one and going by the '83 diagram will be black. Mine is red on the '82 model.

So that's all according to your diagram and you should have no other connections to your battery (in OEM land anyway, doesn't account for any "after market" wiring that has been done).

Now, going back to your original post, I see your question was about three ground wires... hmmm... so what I see in regards to what needs to be disconnected from your battery isn't matching up so well.

I can say as much as that in the OEM harness, black/white is definitely ground, but it's a bit hard to work out what the other wire's colours are.

Where does the other end of those wires go to and what colour are the wires there?
