    Wiring problem, not my cup of tea

    I've got a 79 GS1000L that I'm turning into a bobber. I disconnected the battery, removed the rear taillight assembly, and unhooked the rear signals, so today I went to hook up the new taillight but there isn't juice to either the brown wire or white, I know one is the running, one is the brake. I made sure that I've got a good ground, but what do I do next? I seen where the glass fuses were and checked those but they all appeared to be good. So is there something simple that I need to do? I'm terrible with wiring!

      Well I'm not that bad, I did hook the battery back up before I started working on it, haha so what about after that?

        Since you have the battery connected, follow the current path for the electricity.

        Using a test light or a voltmeter, check:
        - Power at both sides of the main fuse
        - Ignition key ON
        - power at both sides of the rest of the fuses
        - power through the various connections between the fuse panel and the lights

        This should quickly narrow down the area where you are losing power.

          Wiring!!!

          Well I got my wiring all figured out today! Heres the bad thing, I had my battery hooked up, tested the rear brake wires and still nothing. Ive never rode the bike, had it running one time for 10 seconds if that, otherwise Ive been tearing it apart and now getting it back together. So there is a headlight switch on the handlebar control, never knew it, as soon as I flipped that, I had hot wires! Haha then it was a ahhhhhhhh sh*t, but hey thanks alot, have a good one!
