New batteries need to be charged at a low amp setting for a few hours prior to use, I put mine on a trickle charger at 1 amp for 24 hrs prior to use

Can you check the specific gravity to verify it is fully charged? You can pic up a cheap tester at any auto parts store. It looks like a small turkey baster but has balls inside that float at different amounts of charge. Count the number of floaters and read the state of charge.

Thats sounds wild.. i put a mmeter and it reads 12.5 but quickly drops when the engine turns over.. drops until engine doesnt turn over any more

was it pre-filled or did you have to add electrolyte?

2.5 amps is too fast. For a 14 a-h battery you should charge at 1.4 amps max.

So assuming the battery is okay, you might want to clean your battery cables - both where they attach to the battery and where they attach at the starter solenoid and ground.

                        Hi,

If new batteries are not properly initialized you can ruin them. Let's hope that didn't happen. Here's an article: Battery Charging

i went out and bought a new charger.. it charges at 1amp and i charged for 8hr last night.. connected it after work today and nothing same response..
                          1. Did i mess up the battery?
                          2. could it be the starter is having a hard time turning the engine?

Did you clean the cables yet? Did you try to jump the starter solenoid? There are lots of thing to test before jumping to a conclusion.
