I've got a sweet little Kawasaki KH100 (78) that has a very simple rectifier. All it does is allow the charge to flow one way as far as I can tell. Of course it's no longer working and I'm trying my best to avoid paying $50 for it! I'm thinking a diode would do the job just fine. My problem is trying to figure out what type of diode would work for a 6 volt bike system. Anyone have any suggestions?Rob

My 60's era Honda 90 used something called a zener diode. It had several large cooling fins on it. The PO had ridden it into a creek and basically gave it to me. I replaced the diode (it was also a 6 volt system) and away I went.
