New Gs owner flooding issue

I recently purchased an 81 GS650g. She was running great last week but today tried to start it up with no luck. Waited an hour still nothing. It turns over but really weak and wont fire up at all. Did i just flood the hell out of it or is there another issue? Plugs are new and gunk free. Should i just wait a day and see if it evaporates? An help would be apprieciated.

I would try charging the battery first since you said it turns over weakly. The bike needs at least 10v to power the coils.

Yeah, charge battery up. If your new-to-you bike behaves like mine, you must pull the "choke" up all the way when cold. It's a fuel enrichment system and not plates across carbs throats.

Also , move petcock to prime if bike has sat for a week, so fuel bowls get refilled. Make sure you put lever back to "ON" or "RES"

You should probably check your charging system (i.e. go through The Stator Papers or at least the Quick Test) and clean all of the electrical connections in your wiring harness, including the fuse box. They are 30 years old and corroded. Run the ground wire from the r/r directly to the negative terminal of your battery.
