    Electrical Feedback or Something

Recently purchased a buggy with a GS 450 Twin motor. Have a problem in that it always burns/melts the first cylinder pick up hence no spark. This happens after about 20 minutes of riding. Loom starts getting hot and then we loose a cylinder. Any help please, and is there some where I can download a service manual from.

    Thanks

That actually sounds like it may not be getting enough cooling... has it got plenty of air flow where it's mounted in the buggy? I've never heard of that problem before, but I have heard of air cooled motors overheating after 15 to 20 minutes without proper air flow.

Depending on what year the engine is, you'll find both the Clymer and Haynes manuals on here:

It may very well be wired wrong. Check the wiring and then go through all the connectors to make sure they are clean and are not creating a high contact resistance. You will also have to figure out how to provide grounds to the proper locations since it is a transplant. It, most likely, is also overcharging since the lighting load from the bike is not there. You need to add lights that draw at least 65/70W, or an equivalent resistive load. If it is overcharging, your voltage is too high and could be causing your problem. http://members.dslextreme.com/users/...0GA_wiring.jpg
