The End of the Road for my Honda RR Kits

I am sad to say that very soon I will not be offering Honda RR kits for sale.

I have exhausted the supply I have and no longer can provide them.

I procured new Honda RR kits last year but cannot any longer. The ebay prices for these regulators have risen to the point where it's not viable to chase them down any longer. I would have to raise prices and go through inventory shortages if I continued to pursue ebay for inventory. Also, my job demands much more of my time than before leaving me unable to spend the energy turning RRs over like before.

I started offering Honda RR kits about 7 years ago when a member asked me if I could modify a Honda RR he had delivered to me from ebay and forward along with the required connectors. I started gathering RRs from the 'Bay and developed a service that ultimately saw several hundred regulators installed on GS bikes world wide. We used to read dead battery threads every day, now it's a given that the OEM RR needs to go and be replaced with something else, and for scores of riders that was a Honda RR kit.

I always offered a lifetime replacement policy, something unheard of for bike parts in general and electrical items in particular. To date 6 people thought their Honda RR was failed, as it turned out none were bad but I shipped replacements immediately anyway. I found homes for these RRs on other bikes, they still work today.

I will keep in reserve replacements for "warranty work" and continue to offer phone and email support for anyone who needs charging system help whether you bought one of my kits, or not.

I always said I sold solutions and confidence, not regulators. Didn't make much money at all on them, rather I was paid handsomely with emails and messages thanking me for doing this.

If I can find another source for RRs I'll restart the Kit Engine, but for now this is it. Please only one RR kit per person (I've sold as many as 7 at a one time) and I can't do any custom connector or wire orders since they are already made up.

I will be taking down the advertisement in Parts and Services when I exhaust the supply. I'll replace it with a tutorial on modifying an ebay Honda RR find, I've got one left that will star in the pictures; this will be my personal spare and memento.

Thank you all for your orders over the years, it's been fun.

OK, I had planned hitting you up in a few weeks to pick up one of these, it looks like I need to get on it now. What do you charge for these, shipped?

Your wiring diagram alone helped me when I bought a 12V Honda R/R by mistake for a 6V bike. I put it on my bike right away and it's still alive and well.
        Thanks!

The remaining RR kits are still 45 dollars delivered, a little bit more overseas and Canada depending on where you are. Not much really.

PM me for ordering details, I won't put my info public on the site for obvious reasons. I do take paypal or other forms of payment.

It is sad to see this great service going away though . Thank you for your efforts and services Mr. duaneage.

Well Done; I could never understand your pricing as a business (seeing R/R's for $40 delivered) but helping the community it is a slam dunk.

Hopefully we wont be losing you just have to find other sources for Honda R/R's

Actually they were 45 after postage rates went up, but I made a lot more off the good will and friends I made. I've sold them as close as 4 miles away and as far as New Zealand.

Sent one to South Africa last month.

I'll still be around, I just completely restored my GS and as soon as the tins are back from paint we'll see if it is BOTM material or not.

Dwayne, don't you mean Australia. You have to fly over New Zealand to get to Australia.

Yeah, but they are an hour farther on the clock. I sent 6 to OZ in the past year, so your team is represented as well. I always said it is cheaper to put things in orbit than mail to your part of the world. I'm glad I was able to help everyone out down there, I know how expensive motorcycle parts can be.

                            Duane,

I certainly hope this is not the end of an era. The service you've provided has been vital to the community and you've done it for very little monetary reward. Thank you for all your hard work and assistance. I am grateful for all of your guideance over the years. I hope another convenient source for inventory can be found. Until then, I look forward to at least continuing to learn from your expertise.

All the best to you and yours,

                            Cliff

Only the end of affordable RR kits. I can't get them like before and I don't have the time to chase them any longer. If I can find a source for them again we'll rejoice in the glow of Honda RR kits again.

Jeez Cliff, your post sounds like I bought a Harley or something,
