    Starter question

I own an 84 GS1150 and it needs a starter, I have an opportunity to purchase two 78 Suzuki 750's and I was wondering if the starters could be the same.Thanking anyone in advance for your time.

I would say to look up the part #s for their respective starters.

I'd get something closer year wise to your bike. At least, ask seller how many gear teeth are on the 78's starters. Why buy 2?

        Hi Mr. GSFAN,

The part number for your "starting motor" is 31100-00A00.

That part number also shows up as being used in the following:

        • 1983 SUZUKI GS1150ES3D - STARTING MOTOR
        • 1984 SUZUKI GS1150ESE - STARTING MOTOR
        • 1985 SUZUKI GS1150EF - STARTING MOTOR
        • 1985 SUZUKI GS1150ESF - STARTING MOTOR
        • 1986 SUZUKI GS1150EG - STARTING MOTOR

http://www.stockers.com/ has rebuild kits or you can get a refurbished unit for about $150. I don't think the other starters will fit your bike as Stockers also has different part numbers for the two bikes (GS750 vs. GS1150).

        Thank you for your indulgence,

        BassCliff
