    Yet another LED light question

    Ok, I surfed all of the threads on LED tail lights and have seen a bunch of different circumstances and remedies.

    My particular problem is that I have seperate right and left functionality. I got the EF34 Flasher which is 3 prong, and when i hook it up it buzzes madly and and the blinkers stay on. I do have the lights on the dash, two of them, one for right and left, so the (single light) diagram wont work for me. Not sure what to do next.

    Any suggestions would be great. It is the last thing I have to do. And I have a brand new battery on a battery tender as well.

    Just because you have a 3-prong socket on the bike does not mean that you can simply toss a 3-prong flasher in there.

    As a matter of fact, there is not a 3-prong flasher that you can get at ANY store (other than Suzuki) that will simply "plug in".

    The functions of the Suzuki flasher are different than ANY other flasher that is available. You can use your new flasher, but will need to make an adapter.

    Two of the prongs are for battery power and the lights, the third one (on the stock flasher) goes to the flasher control unit (your self-cancelling system). Your adapter will have to run wires from the power and load functions on the socket to the proper terminals on the flasher, the third prong on the flasher is likely a ground.

    Please not that it's possible that you can not simply line up the positions of the prongs, you have to line up the function. Take a look at these flashers and you should quickly understand.

      I did the flasher mod to the bike. using the EP34 flasher(not the EF34, sorry). I hooked up the battery side, the load side and then the third prong to ground as instructed in the mod. That is when i get the terrible buss from the flasher.

      And there is a "hint" of a flash from the lights.. but not much...

        when i said that i have seperate left and right function, i meant that i can turn on the left and right turn signals and only the left or right turn on.. they do not all turn on... hope that was not confusing...

          Since you and I have the same bike, this should be exactly the same procedure. I can now stick any kind of bulb in my blinkers and they just work, as evidenced by my recent run of "LED vs. Incandescent" testing videos on Youtube.

          Here I compare the Luxeon 3 watt LED 1156 style bulbs with the stock Stanley 1073 incandescent bulbs. Personally, I think these LED bulbs are just as bright,...

          One of my buddies wanted to see the dispersal pattern of the 42 SMD LED tower bulb and compare it to the bulbs in the first LED comparison video. As you can ...

          I like the way the 42 SMD LED bulbs fill the lens but these cheap ones just aren't as bright as the other two bulbs, the Stanley 1073 and the Luxeon 3 watt L...

          This little video compares the stock Stanley 1073 incandescent turn signal bulb against a product from www.superbrightleds.com, their part number 1156-A45-T....

            Yes, that is the exact one that I followed, to the letter. I still have the same problem. Turn on the right signals (for example) and I get a steady light on front and rear as well as the right dash turn signal light and the relay buzzes like mad. If I put in the original one, it does the exact same thing, just no buzzing... could it be a bad relay?

              Is the battery low perhaps? Blinkers start doing strange things when they're not getting full voltage.

                nope, brand new sealed battery and charged with battery tender jr. all night last night.. got green on the tender this morning...

                tried it again... and the same thing...

                not sure what it is.

                could it be the two lights on the dash that are causing my problem?

                one for each side when the signals are on... I have the two indicators on the dash, not just one... does any of that make sense?
