What spark Plugs do you run?
I bought a 1981 GS 750E about 2 weeks ago and I am going through the maintenance to be sure everything is good. In the owners manual, it specifies to use a NGK B8ES spark plug. The plugs that are in my bike are Champion RA6HC. I didn't like seeing that so I bought new plugs today, B8ES, and I am going to install them tonight with a .031 gap, per the owners manual. I am curious as to what other plugs are being run in stock bikes, and what kind of results others have had using different plugs. Thanks for sharing! -

They put ngk in at the factory so I don't think you can go wrong with them. Alot of drag racers used autolite plugs back in the 90s don't remember the number but I think they worked good. I run the iridium equivalent of the stock NGK plug in my 300. Runs very nice.
The... DR8EIX, if I recall. Not one of those annoying fancy "multispark" things, just a smaller electrode for a more controlled spark location, and a harder electrode for a longer life.

I use NGK D9EA in my bike. It helps the engine run a little cooler.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
