    85 gs 700

I just received my first gs 700 for free. I've been through rebuilding a few bikes before and this is gonna be the best one yet. Does anyone know if I can use a CDI/signal generator box off of any other bike on this bike atleast to troubleshoot? I was told that's all I need to change to make it run but befor I jump in head first I would like to try it. I have a 96 katana 600 any chance it's the same???

    Greetings and Salutations!!

    Hi Mr. oldviolin501,

I don't know if the '96 part will work. Even it it would work, chance are that you'd have to modify the connectors. You can do a parts cross-reference to see which other bikes use the '85 GS700 igniter. The procedure is on my little website.

Anyway, let me point you in the right direction, dump a TON of information on you, and share some GS lovin'.

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.
