    1978 gs 1000 charging problem

Finally got my charging voltage up to 14.2 volts. It was around 13. I followed the advice given from the lads on the site. Took off the seat and tank and either cleaned or replaced all the connectors. I cleaned all the grounds and took off the fuse box and cleaned it. One problem I discovered was the connector above the engine at the front. The PO had replaced the wires on one side of this by twisting the wires together and putting heat shrink over them. I repaired these by soldering them. Does anyone know where I can get some of these connectors 12way or 6way as I would like to replace these as well. I have searched the internet and can't find any. Now I am looking forward to some trouble free riding around sunny Ireland. I would just like to say thanks again to all of you who took the time to reply to my question. the information was invaluable.
