    Broken Speedometer Needle

So, I was out riding last night, and my speedometer needle broke. Just snapped off and is sitting at the bottom of the gauge. Leading up to that, I changed the speedo cable a week ago, and that solved most of the dreaded speedo hum/squeal. It had been working fine, but last night the squeal came back, followed by some intense bouncing/really incorrect reading (bouncing between 75-85 when I was going somewhere between 60-65), and then the needle was gone. The peg it was mounted to on still rotates, and isn't bouncing like crazy any more.

The speedo bouncing was likely not the cable as it was new. What else could it be? The speedo itself slipping?

Also, can I just replace the needle? Anyone have a spare needle I can have?

Lots of good info in the archives about how to get inside your gauges. The search feature reveals all. Hint: use "Advance Search" and "Titles Only"

To get you started you might want to read this thread. Lots of good info here... http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=130920

Fair enough. I didn't realize the needle was replaceable.

...now I just need to find one.
