    Kokar,
    I noticed in the pictures that you used 2SD799 output transistors, but in your schematic and the parts list you still show the obsolete 2SD977.

    Could you show how you connected up the LED's as that is a very good idea I think.

      the original transistor is 2SD977 but this is obsolete there for i used the 2SD799
      if you want you can use the 2SD1976 which include the high voltadge zenner

                Apopleptic (and others) this is the same ignitor as used on all the '80 - '82 450's, the '80 and '81 250T's (I think that's right), and the same era 550's with mechanical advance I believe.
                Pete these bikes use a different igniter than the 550 4-cyl. Different part numbers.
                Checking the part numbers shows that this igniter only fits the 82 and 82 GS550 and the 81 and 82 GS650E models.

                  @Suzuki Don
                  different part number is because they have different connector than mine

                  if your signal generator has the coil face to face (180 degree ) and use 3 wires then i think my igniter is just right for you

                      Don, I did the reverse lookups on Alpha Sports and they all seemed to match, but the real key is in the pickup coils themselves.

                      If they run 60 - 80 ohms as the test resistance and have manual advance, then that ignitor is good to go

                      There are very big visual differences between the 60 - 80 ohm ones used on these models and the higher resistance ones used on all the others. I believe the rotor is also substantially different.

                        Ooops, missed this...

                        Kokar, will it be better than stock though? The stock R/R's tend to die even quicker than the ignitors...
