Front brake light switch mod (using banjo)

    Hi,

my first option (search the forum) is not working currently, so option 2 is used (ask the forum members).

Where can I find information regarding the replacement of the front brake light switch by the banjo bolt ?
    What to buy ?
    How to install ?

I think I have seen some information before, but can't find where (Basscliff's site has been checked...)

    thanks

The below link is about repairing it, not replacing it. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the link, but that was exactly the repair I wanted to avoid by
      replacing these rusty tiny pieces...

To find the switch, search at your favorite retailer's website for "banjo brake" or "hydraulic brake" and they should turn up.
I found them at pretty much all of the retailers when I did mine.

You do need to make sure the thread is right, I believe ours are 1 mm pitch.

To install, all you need to do is replace the banjo bolt with the new one and bleed the brakes
(maybe you should take this opportunity to drain and replace the brake fluid .... and replace the hoses ... these are both maintenence items ... have either been replaced in the last 30 years .... )

You also disconnect the wires going to the OEM brake switch and connect them to the wires on the new switch (which wire connects to which doesn't matter)

It's really pretty easy to do, should take less than an hour.
