The only flak I saw came from another relatively new member.
He doesn't necessarily speak for the rest of us.

Ask any experienced electronic technician, he'll tell you that all those little things on the circuit board just hold SMOKE.
Yep, if you let the smoke out, they don't work any more.

Also, I was told there is a reason it's called Electrical Theory instead of Science.
Because nobody's sure as to how it works... but we believe it should do this!

I would really, really appreciate it. It's always been the most intimidating factor of all this, and it's simply because of a lack of base knowledge.

Normk...please continue with your offer of help. The multi meter thing has me frustrated a LOT!!
Funny thing is, the owner's manual talks about how to use it but mostly just shows some of boxes with numbers. And no matter how long I stare at it...nothing seems to click. I've tried to re-read the stator papers over and over and try to figure out where to set the darn thing (the multimeter) but somewhere in my brain there's a gap between nerve endings and it all just rolls around like marbles!!
I've considered posting pics of the darn thing...maybe then someone can tell how to set it. Anyway...your offer is more than generous and greatly appreciated.sigpic

Alright Norm. You offered it, got in a tiff, ran away, and posted on another thread that you would do it if the interest was there. Well, guess what. The interest is here so please start working on it and let's go. There are alot of us who understand the extreme basics of it but not well enough to not cause problems. If you can put together a down to earth how to about it without going too far into the weeds it will help us alot.
I say not too far into the weeds solely because it's hard to visualize how some of this works. I understand current will flow from the battery to the light bulb but I have a hard time seeing what pushes it there and what I can do to ensure it is always flowing correctly. What's up with this thread? I have re-read it twice now and I did not see where any posting was rude to Normk.
Am I missing something here?
Also just my 2 cents but I agree with the rest of you that this electrics thread would be a huge asset to most of us. Here's hoping it gets started again.
