One of these wires is not like the other...

I finally had some time today to finish my carb boot/air box project (it's been over a month!) and after i started the GS up again i noticed a wire was loose.

It's a thick black wire, with braided sheathing, and a plastic female end that is similar to a USB interface. Can you picture that? if not i can take a pic in the morning.

Where does i go? It's been so long since i started my project i forget.

(sorry for another wire related thread)

    Hi,

Is it connected at one end? Where? A picture might help. The description isn't ringing a bell.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

No, the fuel gauge had black and yellow wires. That's hooked up and works fine.

I didn't have a chance to snap any photos this morning, sorry!

Is that boxy end open on one of its sides? That sounds like the lead that snaps on the top of my oil pressure sender. See part #43 in the crankcase fiche for your bike. If that's not it, I'd need to see a picture.

I bet that's it. It's about the right length to reach there...

              Hi,

I know I've got a better picture around somewhere, but I can't find it right now.

Anyway, look behind the cylinders, under the carbs, next to the clutch cable, and you will see the connector for the oil pressure send unit.

                Hi,

Here's a little better shot. The oil pressure send unit and its connector are below the cam chain tensioner.
