Since you say "airfilter is still dripping", you better check petcock for correct operation- If it's still passing gas in "ON' spot when bike is off, it's faulty. I don't see lots of cranking (with bike not starting) saturating airbox- fuel would get sucked into cylinders instead. Old petcocks are always suspect.1981 gs650L

ill check the petcock but it was trying to start as well when I flooded it and now since then I have found no spark, going to try to see if i can get it to go today with just charging the battery again or if I need plugs or hopefully i didnt burn something that makes the spark out.

Pull the gas tank off and check for 12 volts at coils (orange/white wire to good ground)- no sense cranking if the ignition is not powered up. Also leave air filter element out to dry out completely. Bike will start with open filter box, it just won't run well beyond idle speed.1981 gs650L
