Rear Brake Light Blows Fuse
So I just got a new rear light from an Autozone because the P/O had a marker light on it. I plugged in the brown wire to the hot wire on the bike so the filament always stays on then I plugged the other cord in the right place, then I grounded the light. So It was working fine when I was testing it and stuff and then I wrapped up all my other blinker cords and what not then I turned it on to test it and it is fine when the light is on, but once I press the brake to turn on the rear brake light it blows the fuse.
What do you think is going on? Thanks in advance!Tags: None

Dead short comes to mind . Open your wiring back up and see what is wired wrong or shorting on something. It should be obvious. Also the light you bought is it a 2 element light or a single element?Sounds like you may have the brake light wired to the ground wire.Last edited by hjfisk; 03-17-2012, 07:28 PM.1984 GS1100GK newest addition to the heard

Brake light wire should be white, ground is black, and taillight should be brown (if it matches up with mine and the 850 I saw)Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace
