GS1100ED 1983 Battery size

Just put a Motomaster battery in as the bike came without one. (14L-A2) The height is 6.5 inches and I can't seem to get the airbox past it. Anyone know what model number for a Walmart battery should be?

I have the same battery on the floor right next to me for my 1100. I have never had a problem getting the airbox in. Is there something stuck under it by any chance? Perhaps something pinched between it and the box not letting it sit right?

Got it in. Had to remove the stock rubber pad at the bottom of the air box and also had to twist the battery box to the left a bit for it to fit.

Some batteries also come with a plastic spacer clipped onto the top or bottom -- the idea is to make one battery fit more than one specification.

Anyway, make sure there's not a spacer on your battery.
