    Battery for '81 GS1000G

just picked up an '81 GS1000G that needs a little love. One thing, it's missing it's battery. Someone here directed me to a place selling sealed batteries when I needed one for my GS850G, and I can't remember the place. The battery was yellow, and worked great. Does anyone know the website for it? Also, what battery the 1000 takes?

Don't know about any "yellow" batteries, but you can get them just about anywhere from Auto Zone to Pep Boys to Wal-Mart to Batteries Plus.

The model you are looking for is 14L-A2 or 14L-B2. If you go to Batteries Plus, spring for the best one, the X2 15L. Not cheap, but the best one I have found.

I have five GS shafties here that all use the same battery, including an '80 1000 that is similar to yours, so we have a bit of experience with batteries.

I'll assume the yellow battery you are referring to is the Motobatt AGM style. Check Amazon for some good deals but order from the dealer (make sure you reference their Amazon deal since some sell cheaper on there).

Thanks much for the info. Motobatt was the battery I was trying to find. I ordered an AGM from Batteries Plus for 71.95 delivered. The Motobatt was a little cheaper from Amazon, but I couldn't use paypal funds.
