Is it possible to hook up an electronic tach to a 1980 GS850? Anyone here done it and how?

If it's one that clips on to a spark plug wire for its input signal, you can hook it up to anything, including your lawn mower.
Have not seen any reports of anyone doing that to an 850, but I have seen several replacing their speedo/tach assemblies for Acewell and other units.

The HUD I've been trying out taps into the wire from the crank puck-ups to the igniter box. That part of it works. The rest only works when you're not looking at it.Dogma
