    rewire gs1100g

once get her on the road i want complete rewire to go with the good set gauges i have to go on, its a bit of a mess. im looking for a good sparky around Brisbane Queensland to get it all sorted,( I'm mister Magoo with electrics ) if any one knows of any one around this neck of the woods thanks.

Hey Clancey, I've done all mine myself, but not a full re-wire.

You can probably get the stock harness all cleaned up and reliable with some effort if you're keen. Get some contact cleaner from Jaycar or Dick Smith or someone, give every connector a real good spray, and plug/unplug them a few times to make sure the connection is good.

If you're keen, get some dielectric grease in there as well to stop them corroding.

Can't help you on a good sparky though... that's one reason I did mine myself.

Whereabouts in Brissie do you hang your hat? I don't get much spare time these days but if I do I could possibly pop over to say g'day and see if I can help at all...

thanks Pete, ill clean up what i can easy, and get the mobile road worthy guy to pop around soon, he passed it with the last owner and i have his paper work, so that should be ok. last owner had a bit of home diy electrical done. I do know a guy on north side at Strathpine who owns a auto elec business, been a few years since ive talked to him. im at sunnybank hills, its like sunnybank just with more mopeds , ill get some of cleaner and grease and take a crack at some of it. im working all over the place atm, working odd hours, clancey.

No worries Clancey, I'm sure you'll be able to get her all sorted... and previous owner wiring is always dodgy!

Is that Brian Harper doing the mobile road worthy? If so, he did mine and I can only highly recommend him. No stuffing around or picky crap, just gets the job done and I found him great to deal with.

More mopeds hey? Hahahaa been years since I've been over there, grew up in Acacia Ridge but don't hold it against me ok?

Cool, yeah I know Mortimer Rd well... I grew up the other side of the High School... two houses from the back gates in fact... haha

Spent many a night getting covered in dirt at the speedway growing up too, my mum used to know one of the drivers, someone Boyce I think? Can't remember now too many years ago.

Good stuff Clancey, and hopefully if the only difference between your bike and the harness is the L then I think you're probably ok. Never looked at the 1100 wiring diagrams though...
