79 GS550E plug and wire replacement

I'm a newbie and I'm looking for advice on this! My bike isn't getting spark so I figure that the first step would be to replace the plugs and wires and then go from there. Any recommendations on where/what to get for wires and plugs? I was considering NGK seeing as its a solid brand when it comes to this stuff but any info would help. Thanks!

z1enterprises has the wires, they are dirt cheap, i just did a set about 2 weeks ago on a GS650, slightly cut the epoxy, then have a friend hold your coil and just pull on the wire, comes out with a small amount of force. You may have to pull some of the left overs out of there also... then coated the wire with a small amount of black silicone and push it all the way in (make sure its all the way in) someone may suggest a different route with the wires...
and yes NGK is the way to go, i use them on all of my cars (Audi and VW's) and all of the bikes

I bet it's not the wires.

are you positive you plugged the wires to the coil correctly?
