    A exploded Reg\Rect

Quite the impressive stench of burnt resins ensued.
This was a unit that passed diode tests but it was outputting a mid 12 vdc

Damn what makes for a low VDC output? Just a regulator goin bad?
Bike runs fine since off the battery. Blew a fuse when this thing went.

    Compu-fire beckons.

Damn, I can smell that through the screen......or maybe it's bath time

one of the best replacements you can get, a 50amp, I've got almost the exact one on mine, I have the 40amp, I paid about the same.

Probably have to retest the stator as well.

Hey JEEP, y'all weren't supposed to plug those leads into the 240v outlet at home to test it......

          Mmm toasty

Low stator output and/or over regulation make for low output. I'm sure some wise guy could add in some detailed failures like shorted diodes but it still boils down to the two mentioned basic situations.

Of course not, that's only 240v 2-phase, your supposed to use 460v 3-phase but most of ya'll ain't got that at home.

Whatever, the smoke leaked out of it.

\yeah did the stator tests and the AC output is 75 VAC at 5000 RPM
I may gold plate it and use it as a key fob.
