    Sealed battery for my bike

Does anyone know if there is a maintenance-free or sealed battery for my bike. I have a 1979 GS550L. The current battery in the bike is a XT10L-A2 (Batteries Plus replacement for YB10L-A2). Last time I was at batteries plus, the guy told me there was not a maintenance-free model of my battery. Does anyone know if there IS a maintenance free model? I'm sure there is, but I want to make sure it's a good brand too. Any recommendations?

There are AGM batteries that fit right in. Batteries plus sells them, as do many others.

I am looking for the same AGM replacement battery for my '85 550E...

I haven't found one yet that was the same height as the YB10L-A2 battery.

The only AGM I've found was about an inch taller.

          Same here!
It must be a not very common size.

            Motobatt!

Motobatt's MB10U should do the trick nicely.

Here's where I bought the Motobatt in my KLR650. These things are VERY nice, and have extra terminals.

I don't think it's an extremely common size. Walmart doesn't have one at all. Batteries Plus only has their own brand, and not sealed.

I like this Motobatt one. I'll make sure to look at both the AGM and the Motobatt ones to make sure I get the best battery for where I live.

I also found these TruGel ones. Anyone tried them before?

What I am really looking for is the battery that will give me the most life in Phoenix, where it very commonly gets into the 110s in the summer. Rain and salt are not issues, so corrosion is unlikely to be an issue.

                Thanks again!

I have the same exact size battery as you and am using a Motobatt that sits perfectly in my battery box. I love it.
