    front master cylinder switch

Right guys I need some help here. I have replaced the front master cylinder for a Kawasaki ER6 unit, this has a switch built in but when wired up is not bringing the brake light on. The resistance when closed is 15ohms (and zero when open circuit), am I on the right track by thinking that I need to put a resistor across the switch to bring the resistance up enough to allow the brake light to come on????? If so what size of resistor would I be looking at....if anyone can help that would be great. I can always use a banjo bolt pressure switch but thought I'd use the one on the master cylinder if I could.

    cheers for any help

The stock suzuki switch had zero resistance when closed- you need to reduce this 15 ohm resistance, not add to it or you won't send enough current to brake light.

You might be able to disassemble the switch and clean the contacts and reassemble. Beware it's easy to loose those small pieces and spring. Working inside a clear plastic bag can be part saver.
