How do I test the Ignition system on 1981 GS550TX?

    Hi,

No spark, therefore no driving love. How do I pinpoint the problem?

-I checked continuity on the coils - no problems there. Besides, it's unlikely that BOTH coils would go at the same time - there is no spark being produced on any plug

-I checked the Signal Generator Assembly. One of the pickups was within factory spec (60-80 ohms I believe). The other one was 140 ohms, which is clearly WAY out of spec. So I assume that must be replaced, correct?

-I beleive that the only thing left is the Igniter. Haven't been able to effectively test that. Any ideas?

Is there anything else I'm missing here? I miss my spark :-(

THank you for your welcome. I appreciate it very much :-)

I found the problem: the ignitor. Having a heck of a time finding a replacement. Any ideas?
