    This makes no sense.

Getting close to 12 volts at the coils? Verify this, then try to test the signal generator + ignitor. Here is a simple test for the overall ignition:

Take your test light and probe it into the non orange/white wire (the ground wire) at the coil connector while plugged in. I was able to put it into the back side of the connector so as not to damage insulation. Clip the wire of the light to a good ground. Turn your key on. Turn your engine by hand, bump the starter or flick a small screwdriver past the pick-up. If the light comes on your wiring is good, sig. gen and ignitor doing their job. Do this for both coil connectors. If good on both sides your ignition is working properly and there is something up with coils/plugs/wires. Clean off any corrosion on plug, plug cap and check that the end of the wire is not corroded as well.

      Further testing:

            Duh

When I remove the battery box I unpluged the ignitor and when I put it back together I did not plug it back in. DUH. Bikes running great now.
