    Parking Lamp doesn't light

'83 Suzuki GS1100G"L". Clymer's Manual electrical diagram checked for wire colors and connections. All guage lights and front turn signal lights activate when ignition switch is turned to ON position. Lights go OFF when switch turned to OFF position. Tail light works in switch ON position, but not when ignition switch is in PARK position.
After reviewing the schematic it would seem the ignition switch is dirty/faulty in the PARK position. I am assuming the "L" model had a PARK position as the key allows the switch to stop in the "assumed" PARK position.
So, my question is: How to remove igniton switch? And are the contacts/wiring accessible?
Thanks for any and all suggestions,

    Bob Young

Checked operation again this a.m.; seemed to remember handlebar had to be turned full lock to "lock" the forks. Moved handlebar full lock, moved ignition switch to "park", tail light lights!
Thankfully, I answered my own question without embarrasing myself on this forum.

I am pretty sure that nobody uses that parking light feature, since it merely kills the battery by the time you return to the bike.

Glad you sorted out the wiring though.

True enough. BTDT! But a nice feature if needed. At least now I know HOW it works. Bike is old enough not to have an owners manual which would have explained "how to".

There are manuals for most GS models on basscliff's site.
