    New to me 82GS850G

    Hi, I am new to the group. Always loved the GS850's. I finally picked up a blue 82 with 22k miles. All original, some engine cover corrosion but I found used pieces that are nice and clean for next to nothing.
    My question is on the stator/regulator. The guy I bought it from was having difficultly with it charging but said he fixed it (?). I am thinking for safety sake (not wanting to get stranded) I should change it. Any recommendations on the upgraded aftermarket items, like Rick's or Electrosport. Is one any better?

        Be sure to fix the charging system wiring before passing judgement on the charging system; eliminate the needless stator loop to the hand control and reinforce the R/R ground scheme. In many cases that's all the system needs.
