    anyone have a link to the procedure on how to correctly time the ignition on a 1980 GS 550?

      Unless you had to replace some parts, it should never need to be adjusted.

        i replace the Signal generator (pick up coil number 4 on picture ) and i would like to know if there is any procedure on how to correctly time the ignition on my bike.

          Did you mean you replaced the entire pickup plate (with signal coils) ? If you can get a timing light, you can check timing at idle and at advance; be aware there is not much adjustment capability in screw slots.

            yes, i replace the pickup plate , the signal coil is fix with the plate.
