    wiring individual guages to GS450

I am working on wiring individual guages (minus the instrument panel) to a GS450. The 850 units i have are from a suzuki. In my haste to switch these over I failed to see if the electrical plugs would match up. Is at as simple as trying to match up colors?

Is the wiring on the 850 guages going to match up? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Being mechanical speedo and tach they should work even without the lighting until I get this wiring fixed correct??

Depending on the year of the 850 gauges, they might have all the correct wiring, but most (if not all) of the colors should be the same.

Does your '83 450 have a side stand light? Those did not show up on the 850s until the '82 model year, so if your gauges are older than that, you will have a wire left over in your harness.

Yes, your gauges should work even though they don't have lights.

Just double checked the guages are off a 82 850 g. It is of of a bike that was being parted out in the sales section. Minaly concerned with finding the colors and wiring for the following.

      Gauge power lights
      Nuetral indicator light
      Oil pressure light
      Ground wire
      Fuel guage
