Wiring in my Honda R/R on my 78 1000

Here is where I'm at.The aftermarket Honda R/R is wired directly from the stator because I know how to do that. What I need to know is where do I wire the outputs to?Then what do I do with the old headlight loop wires.I'm not good with electrics so keep it simple please. Was going to get a friend to help with this but no longer fell I can ask for his help.

If you have the stator wired directly to the R/R, you can simply ignore the "headlight loop".
They don't need to be re-connected to anything, they don't need to be taped off, NOTHING.

For the "outputs", ultimately, the best way would be to connect the positive output back to the original red wire that used to connect to the R/R.
(Can't tell for sure, but that might be that cut wire with the bullet connector in your picture.)
The negative wire would connect directly to the negative terminal of the battery.

It is also possible to run the positive output directly to the positive terminal of the battery (through a fuse, of course), but that requires a couple other small adjustments.

    Simple enough?

You need to review this Basscliff link

I would not have a ground wire bolted to R/R body. It appears that this R/R has two ground outputs (green) and two positive outputs (red/white)- but Basscliff's info still applies. At least one of greens should go direct to battery negative and one of red/whites should go to harness.

Yes it is.I'm surprised you don't need to do anything with the loop wires though. The coloured wiring diagram from Varisolo shows those wires going to the on/off switch, will it still work?

Where should I put the negative ground then?Believe it went to the OEM separate rectifier. To much writing in that BassCliff link,my eyes glaze over with electric stuff more than a paragraph.

But it came with pretty pics!
Just put that black wire ground on back of R/R mounting bolt maybe with one of the R/R's green wires to keep it company. But put the other R/R green wire DIRECT to battery negative or else.
As Steve said, ditch the stator loop to headlight switch (assuming you ride with headlight on at all times- do you???? ) You'll still be able to turn headlight on/off for some unscheduled event.

Plan on running headlight on but would like to turn it off for starting.
OK it guess I was jittery about this for very little.Pretty easy but hey this is new stuff for my.Thank you Steve and Tom.
