    Ugh... Give me power

Okay problems are getting worse.. The previous issue is quoted below.
Now, at high Rpms the bike is starting to missfire.
and at idle, and pretty much all times Volts are fluctulating at night i can see the headlight and cluster lights dimming and brightening. (not just a little when rpms raise like normal. but constantly)

So time to replace the stator? or another bad battery?

month old battery, kept on a tender when bike is not running.
Also, i replaced the connectors going to the new regulator and skipped the extra pointless loop

    previous/still currant issue
    "Okay i replaced the R/R with a fh009aa
checked the stater all 3 were right at 70vac @ 5krpm
    across the battery
    idle 12.45vdc
    4000rpm- 13.5vdc..
What else could be the problem?
i replaced bullet connectors with spade."

Your stator reading is good at 70 volts at 5k, but you aren't getting decent R/R output as rpms climb and flickering lights mean trouble- you sure that you have a decent ground from battery negative to R/R ground and is your R/R positive output going into harness?

No i am not sure the ground is good, and yes its going in to the harness

when i bought my bike it was doing that and come to find out the ground for the light was grounded but the screw wasnt tightened down so at higher rpms the ground would bounce up and down causeing a flicker in the headlight.

check your body ground cable, i would think it is a ground somewhere that is a main ground if it is affecting everything.

No, dont replace stator. Is expencive and dont know that is the problem.

Is this fluctuation fairly rythmic predicatable? Is is it random and abrupt?

Do you know if you have a stock R/R, or do you have what is often called "honda" regulator that has a sense wire?

Have you measured battery voltage when it is doing this? Is it fluctuating around a normal value of say 13.5 or 14.0, or is it high or is itr low? Or fluctuating so much that cant really read it with digital meter?

Down load the GS Stator papers and start with that. As for the - grounds on these bikes, I run 3, battery to engine, R/R to engine and/or frame and R/R to - side of the battery. Also, get some contact cleaner and some mild grit sand paper and start cleaning all your connections. Sometimes a dirty connection could be the problem. And if by any chance you have to replace major components of the charging system, think about switching over to a series type R/R and dumping the old shunt type R/R. Oh and make sure your battery is up to snuff, a weak battery can cause off readings. This is usually what happens with a GS, new stator, new R/R, new battery, add at least one more ground and clean and or replace any and all burnt connections.
