Yes...You can run it right of the baterry much like you would wire in a tender. Or you can do a fuse box mod to the blade style with more terminal space and wire it in that way with the fuse in the terminal block.

Before running extra loads on that wire system, you should update your wiring to add a fuse block to split the fuse protection across the ignition, lights and indicators, then add a new fuse for the aux.

Probably not likely to happen, but if you plug right into the battery without a fuse, if your heated gear picks up a short -- that would suck.

You should also think about wiring in that aux link so that it is switched -- i.e., only powered when the ignition is on. Also unlikely, but it would suck to have a bad aux outlet become a slow drain on the battery.

I would think he would be smart enough to fuse the hot wire with the proper amp fuse. If it were me, I would go straight to the battery (FUSED LINK) and run the plug in out right in front of the seat by the bottom of the tank.

I run a Gerbing on mine in just the way Chuck describes. Use the Gerbing cable with built in fuse block....

Note: 7.5amps = 90 watts. With an added 90w of load your charging system may be marginal. If it's very healthy it *might* handle it as long as you are doing freeway work & not low rev, idle around town etc.
It's also worth noting that you can reduce the load a lot by using one of Gerbings temp controllers (i.e. it pulses the power so it uses less watts), that's what I do (plus mine is a vest so only 65w to start with).

My friend flattened the battery on his 2007 BMW GS650 doing around town work with his Gerbings jacket on so it's not just a Suzuki GS / Old bike problem.
