I am thinking about upgrading all the electrics on my '82 1100g while I have it pulled apart in the garage. I was hoping to get some input from you guys about some good high quality electronic upgrades you have either used yourselves, seen others use, heard other use, or suspect have been used by someone somewhere. I am thinking about replacing the coils, R/R, Starter, and Starter solenoid. A push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Electrics upgrades
Hello good people,
I am thinking about upgrading all the electrics on my '82 1100g while I have it pulled apart in the garage. I was hoping to get some input from you guys about some good high quality electronic upgrades you have either used yourselves, seen others use, heard other use, or suspect have been used by someone somewhere. I am thinking about replacing the coils, R/R, Starter, and Starter solenoid. A push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!Tags: None

Coils: Dyna green coils are popular.
R/R: Honda units are better than Suzuki, probably the best unit would be a series (rather than shunt) regulator, but it's not cheap.
Starter: new brushes maybe, but stock starters are fine, not sure if any "upgrade" starters are even available.
Starter solenoid: again, stock works just fine, but if you feel you need a new one, go to your favorite "big box" home improvement store, get one for a yard tractor.
Same size as the original, and about 1/6 the price (about $10-15).

When I started pulling the bike apart it was running but the wiring was a mess and once I got into the bike I found that most of the major electrics were beat to hell and I am a bit concerned about how long they are gonna last. The last thing I want is to get the wiring straightened out and the bike back together and then a few days down the road something goes out on me that renders the bike un-rideable again.
