    upgrading ignition

    1980 suzuki gs850 i seen some where i can upgrade ignition to electric what are my pros vs cons of doing this so now does this bike have points style ignition ?

    also read some where about stator going bad is there something i can upgrade to make sure this wont happen

        A new stator & a series RR will help, very unlikely to go bad then....

        Very likely to go bad on your motor as it sounds like you are running a lot of high RPM's in your other thread.

          You already have an electronic ignition with a manual advance mounted on the crankshaft.

            You can up-grade your coils and plug wires.

            1980 GS 750E Bought new in Feb of 1980
            2015 CAN AM RTS


            Stuff I've done to my bike 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.
