Hi Mr. dangerousdan,

Yes, to replace the stock ignition you will want a Dyna-S system. The GS bikes used a couple of different stock ignitions (ND and KD). Make sure you get the proper unit for your bike. A parts fiche should tell you which ignition you have on your bike. Or the folks at Z1 Enterprises are very helpful if you give them a call.
