    New ignition-kit for 1980 GSX 750

I have read about the weakness on the 80-83 GSX750 regarding the standard ignition. I want to upgrade mine, so that I don't get any problems in the future. Anybody have any links to a good quality ignition-kit?

Oh, the Dyna, I suppose. You can also install Katana coils. They're good for 30K volts. I would go new all around if it were myself.

Nothing wrong with the stock ignition system on that bike. Make sure you're not loosing coil voltage due to harness corrosion, and make sure your spark plug caps are in good condition. The stock system is very reliable and you won't gain much by changing it.

The GS bikes with ignitor problems are the 450, 2nd generation 550, and to a lesser extent the 3rd generation 750 & 1150.

Oh... Ok. But I am actually having some problems with the harness now.

        1. The two screw that join the wires on the battery gets really HOT!
        2. The battery drains quickly when I push the starter-button (usually lasts 1-2 minutes)
        3. Finally I got the bike running today, and the bike ran for about 5-10 minutes. I would think it would have charged the battery some, but the battery seemed dead (I jump-started the bike by hooking it up to my car)

What do you think? A charging problem?

          1. Bad connection. Could ber no other cause. Current thru a bad connection (some resistance) is what causes tghe heat.

          2 (see #3)

          3. Need volt meter to check charging system.
Check battery voltage with engine off, and check battery voltage with engine at 3500-4000 rpm. Tell us what you find.
