Battery Suggestions

Hey guys, I'm going to be buying a new battery pretty quick and I wanted to get some opinions on the best for my situation.

1) Cost isn't a huge factor
2) I'm going to be using the stock battery box
3) I'd prefer to stick with a sealed unit

I was looking at the SHORAI LFX14L2-BS12, which is what they recommend for my bike, but it looks really short compared to my current one. The only reason that is a problem is the height of the battery box and the length of my Positive output cable (it's a bit short).

What have you all done in this situation and are there other options that work as well that I'm missing.

buy a longer positive cable, cheap enough to buy. or make a wooden spacer to fit under the battery to raise it up a bit..

The longer battery cable is what I was thinking too. I still dont want the battery to sit too low. I'd really like to do something nicer than a block of wood though to raise the battery.

easy enough to weld(or bolt) in a plate in the battery box to raise it up. then you could utilise the little shelf space underneath to hide something, electrics maybe?

Motobatt is an excellent suggestion; AGM, long warranty, any orientation. Sounds like your application completely.

Thanks guys. Nessism, that battery will work great. The right size and half the price of the Lithium one. Sure the Shorai is a great battery, but I dont need one that light or that small. Maybe if I was doing a cafe bike.

Third endorsement for the Motobatt.

The lithium-based batteries are still a very mixed bag of benefits and risks. On an older bike, I'd stick with a high-quality sealed lead-acid battery.

I have a lithium Shorai on my 700, it is absolutely fantastic, cranks quicker than any battery I have ever had in an old bike and weighs little to nothing in comparison.
