Well, that works too. Get Mikes stuff and just buy what else youll need and send them to me. I will redip them and start right from scratch. I can scrub up the bodies and get them pretty decent looking too for you. something like these..For my gs 1000 projects.

Yeah I see that point..new and absolutely no questions about the needles .

Believe it or not..thats about 15 MINUTES per carb body..from the typical greyish dull

Well, and here I thought he had an 81 . That's what happens to one's mind on the other side of 40 I guess... Same carbs really, but the choke/throttle setup is a bit different, and I think I prefer the 82 setup so, good!

You already know I was skeptical about the new needles you got from the dealer. I have at least one needle/seat set I can send to you, or to Chuck if you send the carbs his way - complete with one new-in-baggie Robert Barr seat O-ring! The needle shows a little ring in the light, but honestly I can't snag a nail on it or feel it at all. It was on either #1 or #2 carb, which were not fouling but did show a slight wetness sometimes on the bowl (after being parked, of course on the downhill carbs...). Like #4 that may have been an O-ring issue, but I ended up replacing them. I might have another but I'll have to wait until morning to check my other parts box.

Mike i will msg you tomorrow after i remove the carbs one more time and give them one final adjustment after that im sending them out to Chuck and just send him whatever he needs and i will take care of all expenses.

I will do them and send them back...you can then put them on and see if it cures the issue. Then you and me can figure it out from there. Just slip a money order in for the amount bit costs you to send them for the return postage...fair enough?? I am gonna guess, based on my shipping experience that youll be at around 19 to 22 dollars to send them cheapest way from the post office.

Part #49 on the fiche is the o-ring only, not the needle/seat set - that's part #48, which is $33/ea. @ Babbitt's. gssuzuki.com has them for about $30/set. If he can send you his old ones too, and you have a couple from me, more might not be needed. Always good to replace the o-rings though.

Boogered o-rings around the seat, or damage to the seat bores, is the same effect as having a needle that won't seat properly.

Oh it's $33 each? I knew something wasn't right But it says qty4 on the side there? Maybe that's what they recommend.

Yeah its 4 sets if you're doing all the carbs, or $133 - more like $150 with o-rings, plus shipping. My guess is that your old sets are OK, if you were overflowing it was probably just the petcock through #2...

Wow, that's a super-clean bike there!

BTW, partsnmore.com sells needle/seat combos for $8/ea (with O-rings it appears, no less!). Not sure if they're OEM or not, but Mr. Steve says he's used them and has had no problems. That's a good reference in my book!
