    ignition bolt tight

    Is the allen bolt/screw that holds the ignition rotor onto the flywheel lefthanded thread? I have tried to loosen and it is TIGHT. Not sure if I am turning the right way? anty help would be appreciated before I screw something up! any tips to get it out? 82 gs1100 8 valve engine

    sorry, I meant the crankshaft on the right side,where the rotor spins. its an allen screw and has 6 point wrench flats around it

      You mean the signal generator rotor ? It's a right hand-You are using a decent metric allen head on it and holding how? on stator rotor/flywheel under left hand cover???

        yes, the signal generator on the right side when you sit on the bike. I am trying to hold with box end wrench and have a 6 mm allen socket into the allen screw

          I got that bolt loose! wow was it tight! had to put a little heat on it and nearly stand on the wrench!
