    alternator wire throgh light switch

    Just a quick question.

Is there any reason to run one wire from the alternator through the light switch, instead of having it allways on ?

I'm living in Europe, and here we always drive with lights on.

    All the best

Suzuki did this from the factory... I think it was so that when you turn the light off, one of the stator legs doesn't generate any voltage... I think it was to save the R/R some work or something along those lines.

One of the first mod's recommended is to bypass that run to the headlight switch so all three legs of the stator go directly to the R/R.

The next mod of course is to replace the dodgy stock R/R with a good Shindengen unit

Hahaha that one's probably fine too... I'd forgotten you already did that

As long as it's not the old stock one you should be good to go!
