1980 gs1100x Coil upgrade
I just finished jetting my carbs and it was running great until I experienced a total loss of power going 90mph. I figured out that it is a wire or wires going to the sparkplugs. I would like to upgrade my coils and wires to something that can work now and also work later on if I decide to go with a big block setup, or nitrous. Is there a kit like this available? Should I also look into replacing the ignition system?

Assuming the coils, wires & caps are all stock, a common issue is the caps sometimes lose their conductivity due to corrrosion between the cap/wire connection.
The caps simply un-screw off the wires (pull back the rubber sleeve first). Once removed, trim the wire back approx. 1/4" - 3/8" to get to fresh, clean copper & re-install the caps...
Even better, replace the caps with new aftermarket NGK ones...
Basscliffs site has some info regarding NGK types & styles.
