Hey folks. Wanted to give a huge thanks to BassCliff and all others that help out on making this site (and his) so great.
I'm one of the "with not too much mechanical knowledge GS purchasers." (But willing to learn).
After realizing my battery was overcharging, I went through the various testing lists and charts.
Did all the stator check... All good.
Checked grounds and resistance for the R/R.... All good.
Diode check was poor...
Switched R/R from another 400 it isn't new (ill look into getting a new one soon)
And all is great. Bike bike is charging fine and maintaining a good voltage at rev.
Without the site, and the link to the service manual (thanks again Cliff) I would have been at a loss.... As it is all seems to be working out at the moment.
Only bummer is the forecast of heavy rain in the forecast for the next two days.... Soon though.
