hi just changed rectifier on the gs where do the wires go wires are red . white/blue tracer white with green tracer and yellow have fitted earth wire. and electric start button is not working. was working before I changed rectifierTags: None

On the R/R, there are 5 wires. Three go to the stator and the order does not matter (ignore the W/R W/G tracer wires ; they are bad VOODO).
The others are red and black, simplest is to reconnect the Red to the same harness connection.
The black follow the grounding guidance at GS Charging Health.

Hi Mr. rutter5835,
I hope you are talking about an integrated rectifier/regulator unit. I believe your model year did not have separate regulator and rectifier. If yours is a 5 wire unit, disregard the blue "sense" wire connections in the diagram below. You can also disregard the useless loop of wire that goes up to the non-existent headlight on/off switch. Just connect the three stator wires directly to the r/r unit inputs. More information on my little website.
