    Coil check

I have some Accel coils sitting around my bin of goodies. p/n 140403

I'm testing both primary at 3.5ohm and secondary comes in at 16.55 for one and 17.47 for the other - both fitted with 8.8mm suppression wires and the black rubber caps that come on the Accel setups.

These are the coils listed for my 1150, but do I need to put different caps on to get the secondary up a bit higher?

Sorry - specs in my manual say 30-40Kohms for the secondary, but I thought aftermarkets were okay to be lower? Just not sure if ~17k is too low.

So is that 16.55 and 17.47 kohms secondary over caps? The few that I've checked are between 24 and 34 kohms - seems to depend on cap variations. I doubt that a lower reading would be a issue -unless it effects timing slightly.

If ohms are lower than normal it is likely that there is s short reading fewer windings

Yeah, with the black rubber "caps" that come on the Accel setups. They aren't resistance caps as far as I know. I have some resistance caps I could thread on those wires though.
