The main option is what style base for the heatsink that it mounts on. Since the PCBA is bonded to the heat sink it is not something that can be easily replaced after the fact.

for a 14 amp Hr batt 14/3=4.66 amps.
If you put an accessory onto the bike at the same time then the reverse current will be less.
Theoretically if you load anything else on the bike and you use a stout charger then there could be more reverse draw but if you exceed the 6 amps continuous the poly fuse will eventually cut off the charger and you will have to use the battery.
It is not likely a trickle charger will ever be able to support 6 amps although a big automotive charger will.
I think this is a good solution.

Guest repliedThis will go on a 1985 GS550L, but my original mounting location is now occupied with a compufire reg/rec. and the fuse block is now located between the battery and rear inner fender. It looks like tabless would be fine.
